Advanced communications were once thought to result in an eventual “Global Village.” How different it is turning out: More like “Village of the Damned.” (Remember that movie?)
Lets see if the EU fails if Europe can go back to the frequent and bloody wars between neighbors (like the ones that culminated in a couple world wars). it seems these new “Nationalists” are aiming not at making their own countries better, but wreaking havoc on the rest of the world.
Ah yeah, the famous domino effect and its dreaded, disastrous results; Even if the whole EC unraveled and went back to its two dozens currencies, enforced borders, etc… 1st) What a mess! 2nd) But I doubt it would stop the present bickering between countries, and certainly not the domestic one. By the way, England’s UK may have to fight its own domino game in Ulster, Scotland and Wales… soon.
