Grandson of the Vietnam era Daisy Cutter. Meanwhile, the previous Commander-in-Chief is in the South Pacific. Maybe he’ll stay there and let Trump lead.
we blew up dirt. lots of dirt. oh, and we blew up a bunch of U.S. tax payer dollars because, you know, now we gotta build more of them big ’ol bombs to blow up more dirt. Makes us feel like we are doing something. Trump has to do something to make himself feel manly while his wife is in NYC getting the Os from another man.
Uh huh. Hey, Ramirez, how about a cartoon that supports Sean Spicer’s Hitler comment?you know, the one who speaks for the administration you love so much. Go ahead.
The commanders in Afghanistan had the authority to use the MOAB long before Trump took office. The commander who authorized the use said, “In regard to timing, it’s when we encountered this target on the battlefield.”
Despite the media hype, this isn’t an escalation of the conflict in Afghanistan. The number ISIS fighters in the region have been reduced from around 3,000 to 1,000 over the last year. The claim of 36 casualties isn’t significant.
What is yet to be seen, is whether this weapon really achieved it’s purpose. I can’t find any information on how many ISIS members were at that site. The MOAB was used because it sends a massive shock wave that can reach into twisting tunnel complexes, but compared to weapons that penetrate hardened targets or send lots of shrapnel, this isn’t that deadly. The MOAB was probably used in this case because the ISIS target looks like it’s in some sort of valley surrounded by ridges, that would contain the shock wave & reduce the chance of collateral damage.
Here’s some questions for you military experts who think using the biggest bomb guarantees the biggest win:
We used similar bombs & napalm carpets in Vietnam, yet we could not intimidate, let alone defeat the Viet Cong. Why is that?
The reports say the number of ISIS fighters in that reason talk about reducing the numbers, but don’t exactly make it clear whether they were killed, captured or simply moved to another place. We’ve been chasing ISIS & it’s predecessors from Arabia, to Sudan, to Somalia, to Afghanistan, to Iraq, to Syria, back to Afghanistan & now in Libya & Yemen. How do we expect to achieve a military victory against an enemy with no centralized command, and a base of operations that moves like whack-a-mole?
Trump has reversed himself on everything from healthcare reform, to trade with China, to relations with Russia, to his military policy in the Middle East. Isn’t it just blind trust in a man at this point?
Because you all harped on liberals thinking Obama was the ‘Messiah’ long enough that I’d expect you to demand some sort of ideological consistency besides, ‘make liberals upset’.

It was the Obama admin that sent the bomb over there in the first place.

The trump gives his generals the freedom to do what they want.. on the other hand Assad.. is held personally responsible for (allegedly) using gas.

Evidently for some people leadership means blowing things up and killing people. Might there be another sort of leadership?

What did we blow up? A ton of money to kill just 36 ISIS. Crap, we’ve done better than that with drones.

This is what real leadership looks like. Something that was lacking the past 8 long, dark years.
