Most of us pay taxes except the rich who pay the least. Death sooner or later will claim all living things. But some get longer lives than others. We will eventually be able to conquer death if we live long enough and don’t lose our technological society.
The more advanced a society with the accompanying growth socially will eventually become the next best thing to immortal. And by how their deity, JHVH sees things if Adam and Eve had eaten from the other forbidden tree, the Tree of Immortality they would have become “gods”. So they were sent out only half way there.
