They’ve always had a sort of Ignatz/Krazy kind of relationship, but this is the Ignatziest and Kraziest yet. The little heart floating above Lio’s head is used precisely as were those generated by Krazy’s noggin when she would be hit by one of Ignatz’s ubiquitous bricks. If this strip used thought bubbles, I’d expect to see one in that third panel captioned “My l’il anjil!”
I think the relationship is changing…it’s usually Lio that initiates the contact and Eva responds; recently it is Eva that has done so because…love and hate are complicated
