The US defense budget is bigger than the sum of the next seven countries in the world and is more that half of the sum total of what all other countries spend. Our defense budget as a percent of GDP is about 3.5% which puts us about average in comparison to other countries. We clearly don’t need to spend more. We do need to spend smarter and stop building ships and aircraft the Navy and AF don’t want just to keep the politicians constituents employed.
…and don’t we have to give two percent of that to NATO? Sometimes, I think Trump is laughing up his sleeve at the great big practical joke he’s playing on us….
