4 miles into a freezing, snow covered forest, my lab jumped into a stream and went for a swim. I panicked, figuring I was gonna have to carry him those miles back to the car as he began to freeze. He came out and suddenly rolled in the snow. To my shock, the snow wicked all the water off his outer coat and he seemed completely dry. I learned later that labs have a waterproof undercoat. I had panicked, the dog had a great day. GO LOUIE ! ! !
And Henry, the other dog, with the long eyelashes well, the little lady is allowed to wear a sweater, ladies may do so. But Louie is a tough Lab and he prefers to “tough it out”. He ain’t no sissy dog you know, unlike his “sissy” master! :-D

a perfect day for a german shepherd, sunny and cold…but I wouldn’t recommend cold water swimming like a lab can do.
