Couldn’t be anybody- there’s no kids in the house.
It was Mr Nobody. I memorized the poem “Mr Nobody” in eighth grade but can’t remember it anymore. Funny, I memorized “The Owl and the Pussycat” in first grade and still remember it almost word for word.

It could have been the “Not me” ghost from "Family Circus " maybe ?
