Wally: Why do you want to learn to knit?
Joan: Because it's so relaxing!
I tink I can I tink I can I tink I can… (Frogging: to take it off the needles and rip it, rip it. Tinking: to undo carefully one stitch at a time while still on the needles.) Hang in there, it’s well worth the learning curve!
My mom taught me to knit when I was 8, about 20 years ago I started knitting baby afghans for family and friends (especially friends at my church) and everyone loves them. Lately I started knitting what I call Morse Code scarves, simple striped scarves where the wide and narrow stripes spell out the person’s name in morse code (narrow stripes for dots and wide stripes for dashes). I have one friend who likes my scarves so much that she’s asked me to make three of them so she can wear them with different outfits and she’s always telling me how many compliments she gets. By the way, if anyone is interested in the scarf pattern I’m happy to give it.

Crocheting is a lot easier, only one tool and if you drop a stitch you just keep going.

I found needlepoint so relaxing that I was going to lose my mind…

Do a wordsearch puzzle book just take finding words or pencil color books as flowers, nature, animals. Most yarn shriks. A crossword takes smartness.

I can see her frogging that piece of work, and I feel her pain.

That’s like me when someone talked me into trying knitting because it was “so relaxing.” If yarn was hard there’d be a hole in the wall.

Tried knitting and dropped too many stitches. Crochet instead.
