The thing is, he really is his own man. He’s not prepared to kowtow to anyone, regardless of the goods they may have on him. Any attempt to pressure him will just set him off on another rant, followed by scheming for revenge.
There was a book that came out late in the presidency of George W. Bush that psychoanalyzed him from afar based on his public statements and actions. The corresponding one on Trump won’t have to wait nearly so long and will probably require multiple volumes.
Trump nurses grudges for years, and acts on them when he can. Putin simply has people killed. Which one do you suppose will get angry with the other first?
