Technically, as long as it happens in the exchange zone I think it’s OK. We were in first place in the 4×100 going into the 3rd leg. The baton was dropped – no clean exchange. We still placed – LAST, but we weren’t disqualified.
That’s about how the forward pass in football was invented. There wasn’t any rule against it.
