Kind of hard to predict how history will see things, if we could predict accurately, a lot lot more people would be wealthy. As automation and artificial intelligence reduce the number of people needed in the labor market to maintain productivity, capitalism may not be the answer to every problem.

Maybe we could ban using technology …. to maintain full employment?
Fidel was a ruthless tyrant who dealt with opposition by imprisoning or killing dissidents. A zealot so determined to not be an American puppet, that he eagerly became a Soviet puppet.
Castro was a ruthless dictator who exiled, imprisoned or killed anyone who opposed him. Cubans still live much better lives than Haitians or Dominicans.

Fidel is dead. Raul is 85, so he won’t be around much longer. He seems to realize Cuba needs to follow Russia & China away from strict Communism. Maybe it’s time to think about the future instead of the past.
