But having the colony means control over the rodent population and since they’re spayed they won’t overpopulate the area.

The Indians mistake was they did not “fix” those Pilgrims.

Thus the importance, demonstrated some 396 years ago, of a good border fence and strict immigration laws. :-)

When you trap feral cats and have them fixed they ask you to agree to keep feeding them…and yes it keeps the mouse & rat population down…

I’ve got a feral cat that took up residence in our back yard 3 summers ago. The humane society in our area had already trapped him to vaccinate and neuter him. While under the anesthetic, they cut the tip off the left ear so they won’t make the mistake of bringing him in again. I feed him and he keeps the mice from running into my garage. He won’t let me touch him, but lately he has been getting closer to me. Maybe by next summer, he’ll let me touch him.

We have 2 colonies we’re feeding. One is down to just 3 cats, and we can probably bring 2 of them inside soon. The other has at least 5-7 in it, and I can’t get anywhere close to them. They’re out by my work.
