Donald Trump: I promise to be a president for all Americans. That includes scary Muslims I want to ban, dirty illegals I want to deport... blacks who are killing each other with nothing to lose, veterans dumb enough to be captured, whiny disabled losers, idiots who think global warming is real... nasty women, fat women, flat-chested women who aren't 10s, women I've bragged about assaulting... Voice: This could take a while...

I have always been an independent. I have voted for good candidates on either side over the years. The conservatives have a serious problem in they are convinced their brand of ideology needs to be imposed on everyone else. The liberals have a problem in that they really do want to make the lives of the disadvantaged better but the can never figure out how to pay for it so they end up imposing silly laws and taxes to try to make it work. The also cater to unions to preserve their power base and end up with things like CPS in Chicago. Both parties take advantage of their political positions to make money and live well. Scandals appear daily in newspapers detailing fraud, corruption, and outright theft in the political class. I don’t know how to fix it. Clearly the media has failed us since they are now into entertainment and ratings. If anybody has any constructive ideas please let the rest of us know.

60,034,250 eligible adult Americans voted for Trump and 158,924,750 did not (along with 102,459,820 ineligible Americans).
As with any other president, Mr. Trump will exercise his executive duties as he sees fit.
As with any other president, 80% of Americans did not elect him.
As with any other president, he is not ‘the boss’, but the people’s servant, and cannot compel us to do anything we will not consent to.
Wherever America is going, we are going together- the 20% who voted for Mr. Trump, and the 80% who could not.

I voted for Hillary, but Trump has announced that he is replacing Obamacare with single payer, which is what Canada has. That’s what Democrats started out trying to accomplish and wound up with Obamacare because the Republicans listened to the drug and insurance companies and blocked single payer. We don’t know what Trump is going to do, and I seriously suspect that he doesn’t either. I know that he knows that more than half of Americans didn’t vote for him, and if he wants to get reelected (questionable) he can’t be taking health care away. He actually will have to do what voters want. Most voters— like in the 60-70% range want the things advocated by Democrats to be domestic policy, if they are presented without a party label on them. Trump can be a beloved president rather easily. He just has to propose the things voters want and get the tea party and Democrats in congress to vote for it. The establishment Republicans will explode, but there aren’t enough of them to do much damage.

Der Drumpfenfuhrer is leaving all that governing, just foreign and domestic policies, to Obersturmfuhrer Pence, so don’t forget a repeal of same sex marriage, Roe v Wade, Brown V Board of Education and a reinstitution of Jim Crow and renewed licenses for all the Dr. Coathangers.

Having served my country as a true patriot, soldier, law enforcement officer, and in other capacities of “public service”, professional and volunteer, for half a century, my concern about Trump was who he might pick to be in his cabinet and appointee list to provide him support, or sound advice. That his proposed list is the very bottom tier of that “basket of deplorables”, is indeed something to frighten not just “liberals”, but those who were his greatest support base of votes as well (in fact, especially!).
Yes, the ’toon merely starts to list the dangers that flowed from his own mouth, and deranged “intellect”. If the REPUBLICANS who still have any morality or intellect left who occupy seats in the House and Senate fail to join with Democrats to do their job of securing us safe from insanity, the nation, and the world, is screwed.

Oops, I for some reason assumed the top of the page was the recent comments.

It is amusing that some continue to talk about Trump voters, when obviously number of votes has nothing to do with it.

He’ll certainly be the president of the one-percenters. And the white nationalists.
