Ok…. he would like to know….

“do you miss it?”

Gosh yes, Tony.

I try to live for the present, and enjoy the new things life brings…..

But I do miss old friends and relatives gone by……

I miss a lot of things I used to be able to do and can’t any more…..

I have to add that I also miss being allowed to post pictures and links and do more formatting here on GoComics.

But at least I’m here.

I have friends and some family….

I’m fed; I’m not wet from the rain outside.

I have a bed to sleep on…

I have the internet, and comics….

I’m good.

Before I go…..

Yesterday there were comments/questions about Maria.

She’s not his sister…..

she looks like his Mom cos characters drawn by the same artist sometimes tend to resemble each other.

She’s not his girlfriend in most senses cos they’ve said they’re only ten years old.

She’s his neighbor and best buddy……

though yesterday she seemed to be maturing a bit and maybe eying that “girlfriend” slot.

Tony is (in his own way) telling about his recent trip to Italy. I like it.

Wow, that really brightened my day. (not)

I mostly miss my dad and my sister. My mum was a real piece of work, but my dad was a comfortable old armchair. Always there, always ready to welcome you, no matter how old you got. Our kids adored him. My sister died far, far too young; she had ALS. She was 63.

Every now and then I go on Google Maps and visit my childhood neighborhood. So many great memories come flooding back.

If you mean my boyhood home of Waltham, Mass., then yes, I do miss it. Great times. But don’t you all miss a great time to be had (I hope!) of answering today’s…

Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:

What’s “everything”?

I enjoyed this one. Yes, it is a great way for Tony to tell us about his trip. Reading this and some of the comments, though, is making me a little teary eyed. I, too, live mostly in the present. The past is memories – good and bad.

I love this one! I miss a lot from my childhood, people don’t get together the way they used to. I still live in the same area as a lot of my extended family but rarely see them. I miss my mother who I never really knew because she was taken from me when I was only 3, I miss my father who I didn’t allow myself to know. I miss grandmothers and grandfathers I never met, this was a loaded question Tony! @JPW Right now my children and school are everything plus everything I mentioned above and many things I didn’t mention.

What I miss more than anything was a peaceful and loving childhood. My mother had……issues. Her childhood was straight out of Dickens and she was incapable of love. Me my Dad or anything.

My friends are still there, scattered across the country, but thanks to social media I can talk to them every day. For that I am truly thankful.

Do I miss what?

That subtle touch of the hand says more than any words ever could. And this is coming from a husband who has done it.
