I think voters should really worry about a candidate who thinks being president give him the right to persecute anybody he wants to put in jail. Not exactly a democratic principle. More like a Putin or any other dictator.
The brazen threats made by Trump are among the most worrisome things to come out of his mouth. When Nixon ordered his AG to perform illegal acts, the AG resigned. Republicans these days seem to have defined deviancy way down. This jailing threat was more like a third world dictator than the US President. Oh wait….
Trump has a very twisted idea of what it means to be president.. In his twisted mind he will be the Supreme Leader.. His word alone will turn all women into willing 10’s and there will be harmony in the land.
Trump claims it was just locker room banter. So.. is he one of those guys that is all talk.. forever talking about his prowess with the ladies.. and, solving the worlds problems, making America great? And this guy is in the running to be president.. seriously?
I normally support the parliamentary system, particularly Canada’s which I have seen up close. However, note that their chief executive is a member of the legislative branch and essentially elected by it. Which party currently controls the US legislature? It would make Trump inevitable.
.
The thing that makes the parliamentary system work is that the base is the card-carrying local member who votes for their nominee, in person (banned in US as a “poll tax” even when no money is involved). That there is a time for each party in parliament in rotation based on number of seats held, to give a two-minute speech on the national news (yes, even Greens). That any party can be on the ballot by paying a deposit, get 5% of the vote, and it is refunded (this includes the Communists, which has resulted not in subversion, but five different “true” communist parties, and none have ever gotten their deposit back). That government is considered the servant of the people, not its masters, so that government support of the people is considered normal, not something to be fought. That sending a letter to one’s MP is postage free (the opposite of US where congressional mail is postage free). And a lot of other details.
Donny Dumpster has also often interated his conviction that as POTUS he would have no need for Senate, House, SCOTUS, laws, or the people of the nation…
@wbrHas anyone on your right-wing alternate side of reality noticed that “billy clinton” is not running in this election? Or do all right-wing trolls have to prove that they are at least a generation behind on current events?
Bush always did leave me feeling like there’s something really smarmy about the guy. I always avoided ‘Excess Hollywood’ as much as possible but I did see some closing moments while awaiting the noon news.
I strongly suspect that if New York & Federal law enforcement had been focusing on Drumpf in recent years, he would currently be doing a lengthy sentence in either Federal or New York prison.

A lot like Idi Amin – his political opponent had a car accident – it ran into 19 machine gun bullets. We could have that in AMERICA, too!

Trump says he molested women and used his position to gape at nude beauty queens.
.
Republicans apparently automatically assume he’s lying, so it’s all just “locker room talk.”
.
Weird that they want to vote for him, but they don’t believe what he says.
