They were not paid because he declared bankruptcy to avoid paying for the work. If this had happened once, it could possibly be a mistake, but he has done it five or six times. That makes it a business strategy. He doesn’t pay workers, because he uses the bankruptcy law— according to him, that makes him smart. He also doesn’t pay federal taxes, which according to him, also makes him smart. Wonder why anyone would want to make someone president of an organization to which he pays no dues.
