Maybe, just maybe, if one corrupt CEO (and there are many from which to choose) gets strung up IN PUBLIC, then there may be some incentive to act withing the law.
1929 crash gave birth to government oversight to the financial institutions. Slowly, the Rethuglicans are taking away this governmental oversight. That WF VP that got the big payout should be hounded by the press. But the press is too busy giving free coverage the the GREAT ORANGE ONE (GOO). Guses I getting pretty disgusted with the press too.
Crow NoboNo, she is far more valuable in the Senate where she is in committees where the laws are formed and the floor where they are discussed and enacted, than as VP where she can only vote in the rare case of a tie.
After the bonuses are taken back, the money should go to the victims (but I wonder if that will happen)If there is any left after that, it should go to CFPB to prevent and prosecute future fraud.
Please note that, even though it is described as a ‘claw back" it only involves their not receiving bonuses in the future and does not include repayment to the bank for the expense of the individuals’ legal fees (it is common for a business entity of all types to pay the legal fees of an officer or member of the boards of directors) or the financial harm to the individual. And the taxpayers, as usual, pay part of the burden because the taxes these individuals don’t pay come from those subject to withholding.

You’ll notice NONE of the so-called “conservatives” who post here have expressed any outrage about Wells Fargo.
Or ANY consumer fraud.
Because It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.
