    That’s a big ten-four

    From your back door

    Just put that hammer down.

    This young man feels

    Those eighteen wheels

That keep turning ’round to take me back to Shaky Town.

Sorry – couldn’t help myself there!

“Good buddy” means queer, to a trucker, and most drivers saw that as an insult.

“You wanna back off five feet, Jojo? That funk is gettin’ intense up here…” .“Jojo, you’re still too close, that funk is starting to close up my sinuses. Mercy sakes, you better back off another ten.”

I was traveling in my big motor home late one night and was talking with a trucker just to stay awake. He was behind me and as we were starting up the Grapevine, he blew by me like I was nailed to the ground. I asked him if he was running empty, and he said NO, he had a full load! I asked him what it was and he said “Pampers!”

My dad had CBs (mobile and base) when I was growing up in the 60s. It was the “cell phone” of that era. I still remember his call sign. :o)
