Between muting, momentarily changing the channel, or just shutting the TV off, I manage to dodge a large portion of the eighteen-plus minutes of commercials per hour of primetime broadcast TV. (And PBS is just as bad, with regular commercials plus once-a-month “pledge weeks” of wall-to-wall commercial begging.)
