In my absence it appears there has been some serious inflation in the warehouse. Instead of shrimp tails, whole shrimp are being used for payment. On Ballard Street the cats have moved to cash!
Thanks to all of you who offered good wishes before my LA trip. It was successful. I went down to help my son find a new apartment. After 7 years in a great place in Hollywood, he just couldn’t handle the increasing noise and traffic, and the commute to his grad school and future employment in West LA. So we wore out the pavement and found him a nice place in Palms. Totally different vibe out there. More expensive, but I know he will be able to be much less stressed out there.
The smell of the house after I am away for a few days is overwhelming! First floor is so doggy, 2nd floor has the cat box stink. I will not notice it after a day. I pity our visitors!
I have almost finished my knitting for the season. I finished the papoose for my step-granddaughter’s new baby last week, finished a “cat” scarf for my great-granddaughter yesterday, and started on her “cat” hat. Those will be part of either her birthday or Christmas gifts. Then it’s back to cross-stitch for the picture I want to give to my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. I hope I’ll have time to do a picture for my grandson and his fiancee too.
That must be the mouse that couldn’t make it through the maze. The pictures today are just great!! Beviek – I love the kittens in the boxing ring. And the one on the beach makes me really miss the beach and ocean. Dennis – glad you had great success on your trip. Last Rose – your Phantom of the Opurrra is too precious. bbear – so many funny pictures. My favorites are the ‘People who hate cats’ and the pole cat.
@Stormy60I post close to midnight both here and on Ballard Street, and I would be up til the wee hours posting somewhere else! actually I TRY to go to bed early some days of the week so I’ve not been posting as much on those days.I’m glad you like the pics bbear, Dennis, MCTS and I do. It’s a labor of love, it takes a looooong time to find just the right pic, and since we’ve seen them all (mostly) it takes forever to find a new one!<spaceI’ts even harder for Happy, he tries to find a bunny pic that relates, AND he has to get up really early for work most days!
@ ƹʅɗʘ “Oh, Mein Papa Oom Mow Mow” -radoRegarding that picture you posted yesterday:Notice the white fur around the cat’s nose? The cat doesn’t have to be solid white or orange to have a pink nose. Some black and white cats have noses that are part pink and part black. It depends on the pattern of white and black fur.I have a calico cat (white, orange and black) that has a pink nose with two small black spots. The “Janus Cat” earlier in today’s comments (which is itself a calico) also has a nose that is part pink and part black. What color do you think a cat with a pink nose should be?
Awesome pics as always this past week. Been very busy getting outside projects done before the rain starts in earnest here in the PNW – and many indoor chores still await too.
Today NYC had one of the ‘perfect’ days, where there was NO humidity, gorgeous blue sky and perfect 75 F temperature. Maxie and I took a long 1 hour morning walkie. He suffered terribly this entire summer with the humidity and heat…today you’d never know it. He rolled around on a patch of neighborhood grass so I took his picture. WELCOME FALL…ta, ta abominable summer!

I think my favorite post from these last few days is Bev’s cat curling.

My Dale was solid black…her nose included. Her litter mate sister, Kristen was white with tiger stripes and a sweet pink nose.
