I don’t think this cartoon is aimed at everyone. I don’t get it either, and I find it too gruesome! Not funny at all, no matter what the intent of the message is.
omQ ROne more detail on the land rush. The rush was literally started with people lined up to stake their claim to land. When the cannon fired (boom) the boomers charged in, only to find those who sneaked in before the starting time (sooners) got the best land. The sooners still rule the state, which is one of the more crooked in the nation, being a subsidiary of Kerr McGee Oil (nuclear – remember Karen Silkwood), etc.

The only thing I know is that the Houston beat the Sooners 33-22. So maybe he means they killed the sooners.
