Funny how we Americans refer to that concoction as “cotton candy,” and “floss” is what we use to clean our teeth after eating it!

candy floss! seems to have a nice colour… hope it doesn’t wind up on the bonnet of your car after it flies across the car park. Oh, by Jove! It’s landed on the windscreen of that lorry.

Only the ‘by Jove’ gave you away as not being a true speaker of 21st century English. I’m afraid nowadays it would be more likely to be ‘Oh bugger.’

Over here we call candy floss “spook asem”. The literal translation being “ghost’s breath”.

The cotton candy has the sugar too much and it was not supposed to get off from the paper stick and fly away in the air. Scoffs! sheeshhh! but I know the comic strip is so funny! Fred should not fetch it because he wants to eat all of the cotton candy. Hmmm!
