In a reality setting, that muffler would be to hot to handle. But this is cartoon land where reality is in a different realm whitch is good because – dogs talk.

if his muffler was ready to fall off then it would NOT be hot as no heat was going through it. This now falls into the realm of reality (it has happened to me LOL)

I came home once with the entire exhaust system in the back of the station wagon. Talk about a noisy drive home!
