Stone Soup by Jan Eliot Gramma Evie: Look at this scraggly mint...it's usually full of flowers and humming with bees by now. Val: Maybe it's been too wet, or too dry. Gramma Evie: OR...it's the SQUIRRELS. Val: Since when do squirrels eat mint? Gramma Evie: They get into the flowers and tomatoes. Why not the mint? Squirrel #1: They might be on to us. Squirrel #2: You and your mojitos. Val: ? Arnold: ? Gramma Evie: ?!

That one squirrel needs to lay off the mojitos then… and maybe go with mint juleps instead.

Mint is EXTREMELY invasive. If you are going to grow it, do it in a pot if you don’t want it to take over your whole garden.

My sister had to anchor her rat traps. The foxes were dragging them off into the woods to eat the squirrels. The squirrels have done a lot of damage to her house and shed. The only reason she doesn’t shoot them is that she isn’t a very good shot with her pellet gun.
