    I didn’t know that Papillon was a dog breed. I was trying to figure out why the squirrel was afraid of a butterfly, and why he was speaking French.

    Poodles were originally retrievers. That weird haircut was to reduce the waterlogging of the fur, while retaining insulation around the joints.

    Papillon were named that because their ears resemble a butterfly’s wings.

    There is a drop eared version of the of the Papillon, called, Phalene.
