NEVER shelter under a tree or bush, they are lightning magnets, get into a building.

Very smart advance always. Whoever the bonehead that came up with those safety ideas for them never watched safety segments on kid’s television as a child. Or if he did,he thinks now those rules are just a myth, like swimming right after eating.

but the point of the story line is that there are no buildings for them to get to in a hurry.

I’d like to see a flashback of the meeting of the father.

If they’re already soaked they might as well go home to shed the wet clothes and get warm.

This arc reminds me of a time my father and I were deer hunting and an extremely rare and extremely violent thunderstorm rolled up on us. I say “rare” because Nova Scotia is not prone to thunderstorms in general, and having them happen in November is almost unheard of. We were each in our hunting spots in large clearcuts (we call them “choppins”). I remember hearing the rain coming up behind me and the skies just opened up. Lightning was striking all around us, then the wind picked up, then the hail started. The hail was quarter-sized (very rare around here for hail to be bigger than peas, even at the peak of thunderstorm season). I was crouched down in a low spot and realized I was holding a lightning rod (my rifle), so I tucked it down lower. I stayed put, getting the heck beat out of me by the wind, rain, and hail. When the storm passed I walked over to where my father was sitting – no point in staying, the deer would have been spooked – and discovered him up to his knees in water. I asked why he’d sit in a swamp, and he replied that it wasn’t a swamp when he sat there, the water came up that fast from the storm. It was one of three times I was ever scared by weather – the other two were hurricane Juan and another severe thunderstorm that involved the very large tree next to my house being struck by lightning.

I’d rather the story get back to how Betty is going to get even with that B***h Gwen.
