A friend would not turn off power. He said electricians don’t. He welded a screwdriver to a switch and couldn’t understand how that happened. He is somehow still alive. God loves stupidity, I guess.

I have a building contractor friend who can build a house from the ground up, and he tells me he won’t touch plumbing or electricity – he hires a professional. Smart people know what they can’t (or shouldn’t) do. Be safe.

Did that once myself, working on a switch when I was convinced the circuit was off. Fortunately the screwdriver shorted the works, the breaker tripped, and not having been shocked, I simply shrugged and went on. I mean, now I KNOW the circuit is off, right?

He didn’t understand that electricity takes the pass of least resistance.
