I was at the dealership where I get my vehicles about 12 years ago chatting with my salesman Joe who had been promoted to a department manager. It was summer, and an ice cream truck pulled into the drive and stopped near the showroom. Almost every employee (90% male) went out. “Smartest saleswoman I’ve met in a long time,” Joe chuckled. “Look inside the truck.”
Inside was a rather attractive blonde wearing a bikini top and jean cutoffs. “I talked to her one day,” Joe said, “she works all the dealerships and stores on this stretch of highway. She’s completely sold out every day – rarely has to go to the neighborhoods and hope for kids to show up.”
Kate Crenshaw understands her clientele just as well.
