Might as well add roast donkey too after the DNParty did all that pro-Hillary rigging.it was a disgrace to the idea of democracy. This was the party,Both parties managed to to tear down the very structure of what they were found on.
The first three panels are Absolutely true. The idea of giving up a Constitutional Right for the Illusion of security is not only insane, it’s an insult to the very principles this country was founded on.
asking for id at a polling station is not taking the right to vote from anybody. that’s a reasonable law. the left would be screaming bloody murder if the GOP bussed millions of paid off supporters and dropped them off at a polling station to vote with no ID on them (then bussed then to other stations to do it again and again) one person one vote
Why is it the right only cares about the second amendment and throws the rest of the Constitution in the garbage?Due process would include putting all the laws back on the books that would stop the sale of military weaponry to citizens. If the GOP was as concerned about human life as they were about an inanimate object they would be working for the people of this country. Instead they are worshiping the almighty dollar and sacrificing children to the gun lobby.
There is a fundamental issue here, which is there is no legally defined “right to vote.” It is absolutely the right of a citizen to do so, and there have been many related issues, but stating it formally, as something that must not be infringed, would be an important step forward. And a number of Democrats have proposed such a law, or even a Constitutional Amendment.
because its sooooo demanding, onerous and difficult to get a background check. What a dishonest bunch of crap! You people who espouse this line of BS that you don’t even believe yourselves should be ashamed to wake up in the morning. Sounds like you could say the same about regulating assault weapons that are slaughtering our countrymen.
This whole business about voter ID ought to be a non-issue. Up here in socialist Canada (that’s a joke, people), you have to identify yourself in order to vote. I think that’s totally reasonable. But there are about fifty different kinds of ID that count. And there is no controversy about phony voters. If the people in the US who are demanding voter ID were reasonable in what counts as ID, then the whole problem would disappear.
Here’s the relevant information from Elections Canada:
Eligible voters in a Canadian federal election must prove their identity and their residential address before they can vote.Voters are required to do one of the following:•show one piece of government identification which shows their photo, name and residential address (e.g. a driver’s licence), or•show two pieces of identification from Election Canada’s authorized list. Both pieces of identification must contain the voter’s name, and one must have the voter’s residential address, or•be vouched for by another voter whose name appears on the voters list in the same polling division and who has acceptable pieces of identification. Both will have to make a sworn statement. A voter can only vouch for one person and a voter who has been vouched for can’t vouch for someone else.Voter Identification for the HomelessThe homeless need to get an Attestation of Residence from a homeless shelter or soup kitchen they frequent and also show another piece of identification to prove their identity, a health card for example.

“Even if you are a suspected terrorist, we can never take away your right to buy a gun without due process…”
“We should never take away a Constitutional right just to satisfy the concerns of a political constituency…”
Fine, then when are we going to bring all those detainees over from Guantanamo Bay and give them their Constitutionally mandated fair and speedy trials so that they can be found “not guilty” and go out and buy all the guns that they desire?
It’s mostly the poor who can’t afford to “buy” a driver’s license or other ID required by the state’s worried about voter fraud, like the whole 35 documented cases that have occurred, nation-wide. Of course what about New Yorkers and some other cities where even the wealthy have never had a driver’s license, hmm, Ralph Nader comes to mind, but then he’s not exactly a “righty” either.
But what I really find interesting is that the Republicans who created the no fly, and terrorist watch lists under the very unpatriotic “Patriot Act”, are the ones making the secret lists, who still want those untrustworthy folks to be able to buy guns, lots of guns, and lots of firepower, they only need for hunting humans. Yes, interesting that those who keep setting fire to it, want to “protect” the Constitution.
