The North American equivalent of the EU is not the US, it’s NAFTA. They’re both about trade and free movement of workers. And ISDS, in the case of NAFTA.
Truly a black day for the EU and the UK, and don’t tell us about the “special relationship” we have with the US. It’s just a fiction, the US pisses on us, as it pisses on the rest of the world. Really looking forward to Trump as president… let’s face it if we can vote to destroy the EU you guys can just as well vote to destroy the US.
Evidently the Brits themselves understand the panic and have regrets. I read over a million people have already signed a petition to have another vote. Many people are saying they weren’t told the whole truth. (I say they should blame themselves for that no one else.) And many other say they voted that way just as a protest not realizing that it would actually pass. Again I blame them for that as real votes are not a joke or a game and do have consequences. Now they have to live with what they did.
I’ve read that the EU basically wants to kick the UK out now. The Frech could immediately demand visas and search/security at the chunnel trains and channel ferries blocking travel from the UK to the EU. The pound has tanked and the cost of oil and any imported good will sky rocket. Google and other big tech companies are looking to move our of the UK, probably to the republic of Ireland or the new country of Scotland when it becomes a reality, for the Scots will likely form their own country, join the EU and the Eurozone. Yes, England will be great again with high unemployment, lower real incomes, high emigration to Europe, Canada, Australia, and the USA, and with nothing world class to export.

We already have a North American Union. We did that in 1776 and its called the USA. Can you imagine there being 50 small countries here???
