It’s not an entirely new concept. Before cameras in cell phones, folks used an elaborate set-up with a camera on a tri-pod, and either a timing mechanism or a long trigger cord, so that they could put themselves in the photo they were taking. No one thought anything about that. This “selfie” fad is just a modern way of doing the same thing, although it’s true that lots more folks are doing it, because more folks have cell phones than they did cameras in the old days.
