Regardless of the reason the cops were sent to the door (I like to think that everyone was worried sick because you’re NEVER late) at least they care enough to bother. I once encountered a police officer knocking on my door. Both my husband and son were out at the time. I very nearly fainted on the spot (never mind that I know they send a Sergeant and Chaplain to do those notifications). It was a Constable in uniform who had lived in the suite before us picking up some important mail. He was extremely sorry for upsetting me, I assured him I was okay. He wasn’t nearly as sorry as my husband was for not telling me the former tenant who would be picking up his mail was a cop.

Hilarious! Glad you’re not dead. (I AM surprised there are no more comments)

You should learn the difference between ‘to lay’ and ‘to lie.’

Cops pounding on the door? Holy. Cow. Well, at least it wasn’t the swat team.
