Jesus died almost 2 thousand years ago…..and we are still talking about him…Muhammad Ali?…a few days ago…two weeks max…and he will be forgotten as small footnote in history.
This is an affront to me. Usually, I enjoy your political cartoon but this one is blasphemous. I appreciated Ali’s life and the fights he had in and out of the ring. But he is in no way comparable to Christ.
Thank you, Mr. Ali, for standing up to the US government during our illegal invasion of Vietnam. Our invasion was a war crime for which people like henry kissinger should stand trial.
Today we are focusing on Ali since his recent death has been all over the news and remains so..The lives of Berners-Lee and Salk have historically and justifiably been celebrated..Now, back to ground: Current events are the primary focus of editorial cartoons. Ali just died. Hence, the cartoon. The two fellows you mentioned are not presently in the news. Hence, no cartoon.

HIs accomplishments outside the ring as a human, caring about his fellow humans, exceeds his accomplishments in the ring.
