I wish people would stop all this nonsense pretending that gluten is somehow toxic. If you don’t have an allergy (like celiac disease) to it, it’s not dangerous. And it is necessary for baked goods to be something you might actually enjoy eating..But that’s today’s fad-diet culture. If some people can’t tolerate a normal food substance, then everybody must stop eating it..Let’s see here. No gluten. No fat. no carbs. No meat. No seafood. No produce grown with pesticides. No produce not grown locally. Nothing cooked. So what’s left? I guess we should just go out and graze on our lawns because everything else is evil. But make sure you only use organic fertilizer on that lawn or even that will be evil.

Gluten “a substance present in cereal grains, especially wheat”…if it was that bad for you, the human race would have died out long ago. And why do they feel it necessary to tell me that my milk/eggs/chocolate bar are all gluten-free? Since when did they begin adding wheat to milk in the first place?

This must be gluten-free day in some of the comics. See B.C.

The commenters here are rather short-sighted. For those of us who do have a legitimate problem with gluten, it’s a big help to know when things are gluten-free. If it bothers you that much, maybe, as the Bard said, “Methinks thou dost protest too much.” I have a friend who complains about it like you, but every time she eats wheat, she has a major stomach gas problem. She has a sensitivity she can’t believe or won’t acknowledge. If you can eat gluten without any problems, just be glad you can. It’s a major pain, in every sense of the word, for those of us who can’t.
