It was a home run that won a playoff game to send his team to the LCS. If that doesn’t entitle the man to an emotional display and a little showboating, then the losing pitcher and team are too thin-skinned to be playing with the big boys. The Rangers and their fans need to get over themselves.

I hate the “unwritten rules.” I’m with the dude in the red shirt.

Unwritten rules: yet another reason I gave up on baseball years ago.

I love the “unwritten rules” of baseball. A pitcher is allowed to get all bent out of shape when a batter hits one over the wall, then decides to cadillac it. That’s cool. However, it’s okay for a pitcher to remonstrate after striking out a batter to end the game. These “unwritten rules” have gotten old, just like those who seem to want to enforce them. Bryce Harper got called out by some old timers for wanting to make baseball fun again. Heaven forbid that someone wants to have fun playing a game. To the old timers, and their incessant whining, get off our lawn. F.Y.I, I’ll be 65 in a couple of months.

Maybe he should have apologized to the Rangers for hitting the home run and ruining their afternoon at the park.

Here’s an idea for a WRITTEN rule that would stop pitchers from being jagoffs: make them take a turn at the plate.

I like the unwritten rules, if this is a poll. Hank Aaron never showed up a pitcher. It is possible to be talented and classy.

    Fans love the base-clearing brawls.

I’ve got an idea for some “written rules”:

If your team has to clear the dugout to separate you, your team immediately forfeits the game.

If you get into a fight, your team immediately forfeits the game.

If in the umpire’s opinion, a pitcher is found to be engaging in “retaliation,” that pitcher’s team immediately forfeits the game.

Soccer clubs can get in trouble due to the actions of the fans. Baseball might consider putting the players on notice.
