As a teacher, I LOVE having students like this one. My colleagues think I’m nuts, but more often than not I manage to help them do well without compromising any of their enthusiasm and uniqueness. The parents are probably right – he likely gets bored in a class that moves too slowly for his mind. The issue is one of finding the right way to challenge him so that he channels his energy more productively.
