Can we finally proceed to the recognition that Trump is simply the Republican Party without its mask? I think that Dan Rather is right; this pretense of horror at Trump is just kabuki theater.The scary part is that Trump can win.
Take it beyond the usual Mencken misquote to the next literal quote: “The mistake that is made always runs the other way. Because the plain people are able to speak and understand, and even, in many cases, to read and write, it is assumed that they have ideas in their heads, and an appetite for more. Still not sure where the comparisons of Trump to Hitler come from. Politics is so geared to hyperbole that it gets ridiculous. Instead of looking at the facts we get name calling on both sides. Is Trump a great candidate? No, but compared to Hillary and Bernie, I will take Trump.
