To all who have wished me luck on a place to live…….The only reason I got the place I am in now is because I started looking and getting on lists 4 years ago. It took that long for my name to come to the top of a list for low income housing. I have to have subsidized housing because my income is roughly $1000 a month and rents around here start at $1300 a month. The city of Denver has cracked down on the homeless population so the agencies are working to get them into places. Every time there is an apartment fire, those people have to relocate. There is a extremely limited number of subsidized buildings. They consider the $1300 a month for a one bedroom as low income because that is the low end of rent. I have 8 to 10 months before I will be forced to leave compared to the 4 years I had before. Not holding out much hope and didn’t last time. I have to continue to believe that at the last moment something will come along. It always does. What that will be I have no idea. My entire life I have always gotten just barely what I needed at the very last instant. I have to hang on to that fact while making sure I have done everything on my end that I can do short of building a place to live. As long as I have my kids, I will be okay. Please continue to send good thoughts my direction and I will of course, keep you all posted. Reading the posts here every day helps keep me going. They make me smile. Thank you!!
