Kotoshogiku Kazuhiro won the 2016 New Year Grand Sumo Tournament, becoming the first Japanese born wrestler to win a championship in 10 years, despite it being Japan's national sport! The Declaration of Independence was initially adopted by Congress on July 2, 1776, but was revised on July 4th- Independence Day. Welsh actor Gareth Jones suffered a fatal heart attack during a 1958 live broadcast of the UK drama Armchair Theatre- just moments before his character in the play was supposed to have a heart attack.

July 2 was when the motion for independence was voted and accepted, and when the Declaration was written. After two days of deliberation and editing, July 4 was when the final version of the Declaration was completed and adopted by the Continental Congress. If you want Independence Day based on when it was signed by most of the colony delegates, you would have to wait until August 2…

Actually, Congress adopted the resolution for independence on July 2 but did not adopt the Declaration of Independence until July 4. They are two separate events. Essentially the first makes independence from Britain a legislative act — with no actual “legal” merit until the Treaty of Paris in 1783. The second was a published announcement to the world.

The technical term for placing a law or a resolution on the record of the proceedings of a legislative assembly is engrossed so the Declaration was engrossed and became effective on July 4.

and @Artie Adams:Wrong. Japan’s version of pro wrestling is All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Those organizations are comparable to WWE. Many say they are better than WWE. All of the organizations I mentioned are scripted. Sumo wrestling is not scripted. The match fixing is more akin to boxing in the early 20th century.
