Maybe he’s one of those men who doesn’t know how he likes his coffee as his wife always makes it for him. Maybe he’s not steady on his feet in his old age and it would be hard for him to walk to the kitchen.
I usually make my husband his coffee. After doing for so many years he can’t seem to get the “mix” right. LOL Incidentally, I don’t mind it, and he asks nicely AND says “Thank you.”
I watched my first father-in-law do whatever he wanted in retirement while my mother-in-law continued to cook, clean, and cater to him as she had done all her life. I wondered when she got to “retire”.

That’s the couple that mistakenly got on the space shuttle. He is more than able to get his own coffee, just not willing!
