Republicans expanded the govt under Bush with the TSA, NSA and Homeland Security. Now they are legislating bathrooms and say they are for small govt. What a crock.

Apparently, Ramirez is mocking the way government functions in NY State and NYC after the Tuesday primaries.

The biggest problem with NY government isn’t that it’s big; the biggest problem is that it’s corrupt — especially elected officials. All one has to do is look at the elected individuals who have been indicted or convicted.

The funny thing is, even with all the corruption, the government in NY — especially NYC — works. All you have to do is look at blizzard of this. The storm struck on Saturday, more than 26 inches of snow fell in Central Park. The transit system was working close to normal by start of the work day on Monday. Schools did not close for 1 day. I looked at how NY handled in comparison to other cities and was amazed by how well it went. It wasn’t perfect. Some neighborhoods took longer than others to be plowed but over all, it was well handled.

Republicants want government in your womb, between you and your doctor. We need BG to protect us from predatory capitalists what caused the Great Recession.

We can’t protect ourselves from terrorism with small government.

Pretty much any government is Big Government for conservatives. Were your taxes a nightmare this year? Ooooh curse you Big Government! Except – it wasn’t. It was private companies who don’t want you to be able to do your taxes who make sure taxes are confusing. So you’ll go use TurboTax and H&R Block. If taxes were easy (because government was a sufficient size to make is so) you would no longer need a third party to do your taxes. If you really want government to look bad, bloated and like it is a “problem” put it in the hands of private companies that are only looking out for their bottom line, not the American people. Then government looks bad every time and we can get these silly cartoon about how askeery “big government” is.You do know that the people are voting for Trump and Clinton right? It’s not just “big government” it is the voters who are putting these people in charge.

We only need the size of government that is required...For conservatives that want to make government small enough to drown in a tub everything looks big.

Small government = Small mind. Any tea-bagger state is a good example.

Walmart has used the economies of scale, to offer lower prices than the local franchises or mom and pop competitors. The federal spending, except for wars, has been fairly constant while the state and local spending, done at a smaller scale, has steadily increased. Why do some think that the state and local do a better job?
