    There have been few people whose first novel was accepted. Even Stephan King had a lot of trouble getting his first published.

    I once bumped into my psychology professor at the grocery store and she couldn’t stop saying how okay it was that we bumped into each other. It was so odd. Almost like she was trying to convince herself that it was okay.

    Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was rejected 12 times before a publisher’s child was allowed to read and convinced her dad to publish it.

    I agree with Bruno. Many writers keep warm in winter burning those rejection slips. And then there are the publishers who call for manuscripts and never acknowledge receiving it.
