Narrator: Confusing news: Canada plans to ban "suicide tourism" by terminally ill Americans who want to euthanize themselves. Security guard: Stop, you hosers! Or we won't shoot! Narrator: How exactly is this going to work? Man: We're asking canadians to hide sharp objects and tear down tall buildings. Narrator: Will they administer a happiness test at the border? Anyway... Man: I'll build you a huge wall to keep out the hordes of suicidal Americans. Narrator: Why don't patriotic Americans give their business to American first responders and funeral homes? Police Officer: America made you want to die. Let Americans process your corpse!

How will it work? Well, I suppose if you’re Canadian the doctors won’t be charged. If you’re not, doctors assisting will be charged? Clearly Canadian Deaths Matter more.I await the next test case that will challenge that variant. Otherwise, there’s always Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg or Belgium.
Or, as Rall suggests in the last panel, allow [medically] assisted deaths in the USA, too. Nah, that would just bring in more hordes of undocumented immigrants seeking assisted undocumented deaths…? See, another bureaucratic night-mare.

Apropo, after visiting Gocomics, I read this article this very morning: ‘Academic kills herself after importing ‘euthanasia kit’ illegally’
http://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/apr/21/academic-kills-herself-after-importing-euthanasia-kit-illegallyIllegal, eh? She must have really feared being charged. :-|

With Amerikastani gun laws being what they are, why don’t they just walk down to WalMart and buy a revolver to shoot themselves with in the parking lot?

“The new federal analysis noted that the methods of suicide were changing. About one in four suicides in 2014 involved suffocation, which includes hanging and strangulation, compared with fewer than one in five in 1999. Suffocation deaths are harder to prevent because nearly anyone has access to the means, Ms. Hempstead said. Death from guns fell for both men and women. Guns went from being involved in 37 percent of female suicides to 31 percent, and from 62 percent to 55 percent for men.”http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/22/health/us-suicide-rate-surges-to-a-30-year-high.html?emc=edit_th_20160422&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=3625422

Great opportunity for the travel industry. First there were bus tours to come and purchase prescription drugs.. Now you can organize group rates for end of life tours.

If a person really wants to him/her self IN, why involve other people. Couldn’t they just starve themselves, or stop drinking water for a while? It can easily be done in the quiet of their own homes. On the other hand if a person doesn’t have the courage to face life, how is him/her going to master the courage to die by their own hand. This assisted suicide is a crock, murderous people want to support it, while cowards lend themselves to it. These are words from a person who a close relative committed suicide by her own hand. The aftermath was not pretty.

Guns are very messy, which is why women prefer drugs, which often fail, giving them another chance at life, actually, Men use guns, very messy, especially shotguns.
“Death with dignity” as in Oregon is rational option, but should include IV drugs, not just oral administration.
Years ago, by mother-in-law was in agony in her last days, and gee, the opiate drip just happened to advance, ending her pain and sending her to peace, even though euthanasia was still illegal, but widely practiced all over the country by doctors who truly cared about “do no harm”, like forcing continued pain and suffering on their patients.
