Actually we are doing quite a bit better compared to the developed countries in the world. I know it is easy to blame it on Obama but what we are seeing is another major transition in the economy. Soon only a small percentage of workers will be able to produce all the material goods needed in the world. Manufacturing will go the way of agriculture which used to employ nearly half of all workers. Automation and robotics are already here. Artificial intelligence and connected computers are slowly taking over routine information worker jobs. Think of all the tellers ATMs have replaced. The real challenge is figuring out what we will all be working at in the future? Maybe we will only have a 35 hour work week or a four day week?

Will somebody buy this cartoonist a newspaper AND read it to him? If he’s a Fox addict make it a Wall St. Journal.

And when you get it, defibrillate the republicans. They’ve been a drag on the economy for fifteen years.

The REPUBLICANS are to busy trying to repeal the ACA to pass anything that will help the economy.

Yesterday, the Intial Weekly Jobless Claim were 253,000 — the LOWEST number reported since 1973

Please, stop using the word treasonous. It has a very distinct meaning. One is allowed to criticize the leaders and government in a free society. By the standard you are using, I would have been accused of treason for some of the things I have said about the Bush II Administration.

Dow playing around 18,000 again, unemployment down, productivity per employee, thanks to mechanization at record highs, along with corporate profits (with actual LOWEST taxes paid by corporates) and yes the middle class is getting the shaft, or is it just the slime from being run over by that PR snail the right rides in a “green screen” world of myth and movies.

Problem with the jobless claims report is the number that have given up looking for work. That is way higher.

As to the holding on to your money, I guess you wouldn’t mind someone else telling you where you can invest what you worked for?

Ultimately, the economy is in the toilet and has been for several years.

Capt Cliff calls any anti-Obama cartoon “treasonous.” I have been one of the President’s strongest defenders — especially against the likes of Ramirez, Lester and McCoy — but we live in a free society.

Manufacturing dropping, labor participation rate at record lows. Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) shows growth at an anemic 1.4%-the worst economic recovery – the worst and slowest recovery of any president.

During the Reagan Recovery, all the press talked about was the growth of McJobs (i.e., employment in the fast food industry). To prevent a recurrence during the Obama “Recovery”, democrats insist on increasing the minimum wage so that these jobs can be automated away.
