With the advent of the recording DVD, we cut our TV watching to 90 min or less a day, and it’s exactly what we want to see. People wonder how I can possibly read as much as I do. Well, when you aren’t glued to the TV it opens up a lot of free time!
I like to think Schroeder saw one of Leonard Bernstein’s “Young People’s Concerts,” during which Lenny introduced the children to Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony and to the Emperor Piano Concerto, demonstrating key ideas on the piano.

Schroeder maybe saw a concert of any Beethoven simphony played by an important orchestra and conducted by a great director

Odd strip. No real humour, and what an odd posture CB is adopting in the second panel!Fascinating, as always.

Of course, there were only 3 channels in most places to choose from back then.
