Yeah, some things do grow on you. Was trying a snack food a few weeks ago that I wasn’t sure about at first only to find it ended up being addictive. Heck, didn’t care for Pearls Before Swine when I was first accidentally clicking on it trying to get Peanuts back in 2005 until Guard Duck was introduced and now I’m collecting the treasuries of that.

That’s what they told me about Moby Dick. I’ve read it four times (had to). Still don’t like it.

This has happened to me with movies. It takes a second watch to begin to like them. The same applies with books. Sometimes you simply hate it the first time and there is is no number of watches that will make you change your mind.

I started out hating songs by Elton John and Neil Sedaka that contain a certain word that starts with B. But I listen to them all the time now.

OTOH my grand-nieces watch the Disney Channel, which plugs its movies and singers endlessly. I bought them the album for “The Wizards of Waverly Place” movie, which was covers by Disney singers of any 70s tune with the word “Magic” in it. The only one they glommed onto was the one that had been endlessly plugged on the channel, ad nauseum.

And, needless to say, when I played any of the originals of the songs (I have about 75% of them) it was a big yawn. No auto-tune.

If that’s the case, Charlie Brown, then why are you taking it off the record player?

I guess a lot of folks who first saw Titanic were disappointed so many people died at the end…
