Maybe all those years in the past he’d been dyeing his hair, I think he looks more like Arlo now.

His hair looks almost green to me….

I guess the colorist is committed to their incorrect hair colors. Why admit mistake when you can just dig in! :P

Has anyone realized this is NOT April Fool’s day? That is tomorrow!

But why did he say April Fool even if he did think it was April 1st?

NEWS FLASH [teletype sounds]THIS JUST IN!!:I don’t think anyone else but me has noticed that Gene’s brown hair is now blonde ! [snerk officially over] Now back to our program in progress.

Our oldest son had blond hair as a kid, now it’s the light brown like my brothers, and when it grows, his beard is also like my brothers, red. Hair color is sometimes different in an adult than it was as a child! Mine was auburn, then plain brown. Now I have streaks of gray. My grandma had a whole head of wonderful white hair, I always wanted to inherit that hair. I didn’t.

Fail. Snickering. I have to use that poem all the time but silently so as not to expose my forgetfulness.

Is Jimmy playing an April Fool’s Day trick on us with the hair color change?

When Mary Lou said they should work on the stand you can tell by Gene’s facial expression that he doesn’t want to do it. Then in the panel 2 he thinks Mary Lou is joking since it is April fool’s day (in his mind). He says “April fool!” to her in panel 3 because he thinks he is on to her joke. But the joke is going to be on him when he realizes that it is not April 1st and Mary Lou is not joking about working on the stand.
