I know the Conservatives like to be angry, but I have never understood just why they are so angry at this issue, is it just because they attack anything they think the LIBS support?

I know the Far Right can be very Far Out – Obama is a Socalist out to destroy America, Muslims can take over America, etc) – but do they really believe that over the past 40 years scientist all over the world conspired to fake information on Climate Change so as to ??? to do what?

The big issue is that there is no foundation in place for alternative energy. There are ideas but no structure. Until that foundation is settled we cannot switch gears because the economic impact will be devastating (enough to make the Big Auto/Big Bank meltdown seem tame).

Cap And Trade will benefit small towns (who emit little anyway) at the expense of major markets who are already broke. Either way you look at it, I support alternative energy, but I think the major markets need it more - and if CAT goes into place, the smaller cities will be the only ones who can afford the transition.

Once the GOP figures out how to enrich companies like BP, they’ll come aboard the climate change train.

Ken, way to change the subject and divert attention to your common theme. Not debating the fact that the climate is changing. It changes over time, all the time.

I object to crooked politicians around the world jumping on board with some convoluted plan to make money buying and selling carbon credits, dramatically raising prices on our only efficient current energy sources and goods and services, setting carbon limits which penalize states who have managed their money relatively well to bail out states who have not, and use tax money to get themselves and their cronies rich on boondoggle industries such as ethanol.

It should be “cap” without “trade”. That “trade” thing didn’t really work well in the Clean Air Act. Yes, in large scale, more infrastructure will be needed to TRANSMIT power through an expanded grid, but “base technology” for wind and solar has improved, greatly, AND created jobs and profits- as it can continue to do.

The only Republican retarded reaction to improvement is they have to get their buddies’ profit guarantees on line before they will move forward. As “oil” companies, like BP, Exxon/Mobil and Chevron have moved into the market and secured patents, leases, and federal grants- they ARE coming on board as “energy” companies to assure continuing their market share and profits.

the Liberal’s “climate change laws” that were proposed would not be followed by all industrial nations, and the costs and limitations would destroy our free enterprise system and our economy.

How many industrial nations obeyed the Kyoto Treaty?

It is one of the “hate America crowd’s” pet projects to replace our system with a marxist totalitarian system.

the proposals would not change the climate, anyhow. IMO earth’s climate is far more complex than any scientist fully understands… and there never has been an agreement on the theory by “all the world’s scientists”……that is a lie. Many scientists deny and debate against the theory, based on data and evidence and interpretation of what info is available at this time in earth history.

HQ; Funny how you sarcastically call anything that can wean the Western World off fossil fuel “magic green jobs” and then say that “cutting the US dependence on fossil fuels just makes good sense for reasons having nothing to do with climate change.”

I guess you just can’t say no to an insult at anything liberal, especially if it’s sounds like a bumper sticker slogan.
