Referring to Bernie Sanders as “too wacky” reveals Steve Benson’s shallow understanding of politics, economics, and history. He might as well label Thomas Paine as having been “too wacky.”
Is it even at all wacky to reëxamine the relationship between the theory, e.g., the federalist papers, and the practice, e.g., our current political/economic status, as Sanders has done and then to comment on that status in political speeches?
DID the founding fathers knowingly lay the groundwork in 1776 so that the top 1% of the population would own 40% of the nation’s wealth and the bottom 80% own only 15% of the nation’s wealth? Was such inequality the founding fathers’ goal?
Beyond that, saying that someone is “too wacky” says that, while a certain degree of wackiness is okay, don’t go overboard with the wackiness: be “wacky,” but don’t be “too wacky.” So, not only does Benson have no thorough understanding of cultural issues, he’s a rather poor writer to boot.
@CavanExploiting the poor can take many faces, one of them is making them a cause to pursue a political goal. Socialism has done for it decades, and yet those countries which still linger in that misery, have both enlarge the percentage of poor people, and make them live even lower in the scale of poverty. They have lost their freedom and their initiative. Unfortunately for people like you, poverty is a very subjective concept, the poor today may not the poor of tomorrow, as long as there is incentive and initiative Putting democratic in front of socialism it only resembles the same old pig with painted lips. May I suggest you read or view some videos on Thomas Sowell, you need an education.
@rjt4004Yep! Any day now she’s gonna be in the striped-sunlight hotel! Any day now! Decades of investigations and accusations are gonna pay off any day now!
There’s even more in that bucket with women, non-white and millennial votes. Clinton is more favorable among voters than Trump. Independent and moderate Republican women who don’t like Clinton are so repulsed by Trump that they are already preparing to vote for her.
It’s sad, Steve, that you’ve labelled the only candidate who even begins to speak Truth to Power as Too Wacky. Take a peek back to Orwell: “In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” Perhaps you should change the label to Too Truthful or even Too Revolutionary…

And yet, most National polls show that “Too Wacky” is the Most Popular candidate with the American Voter…
