I’ve seen books sold by the yard in the colour of your choice, had a customer ask for “200 cut-price hardcover books to fill a shelf, any title will do”, and old book spines glued to cardboard with strips representing the edge of bookshelves above and below for rooms too small to hold book cases. Even boxes that look like a row of books.
